Meet Our Staff
CHRIS BLACKWELLChris Blackwell is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Blackwell's Family Medicine. He was born and raised here in Tylertown and graduated Valedictorian from Dexter High School in 2000. Chris earned his Associate of Arts Degree from Southwest Mississippi Community College in 2004 and his Associate of Science in Nursing from Southwest Mississippi Community College in 2005. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Mississippi in 2010 and his Master of Science (Family Nurse Practitioner) from Alcorn State University in 2012. Chris is board certified in Family Medicine from the American Academy of Nurse Practictioners and became TeleEmergency Certified in 2018. He is a Member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Chris is married to Julie (Brown) Blackwell who owns the Prissy Peacock in Tylertown and has three children, Mason, Kyndal, and Karson. Chris is an active Deacon of Tylertown Baptist Church. He is the current Vice President of the Tylertown Chamber of Commerce and a past president of the Tylertown Rotary Club. Chris was elected Walthall County Coroner in 2019 and took office in January 2020. |
LORI BEISELLori Beisel is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Blackwell's Family Medicine. She graduated High School in 1991 from Lawrence County High and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1995. She earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in 2016. She is a current member of Sigma Theta Tau, a nursing honor society. She is Board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed through the Mississippi Board of Nursing. Lori brings more than 20 years of nursing experience to Blackwell's Family Medicine. She has worked as a cardiology nurse, maternal newborn nurse, school nurse at Columbia High School and Jefferson Middle School, and most recently as a Nurse Practictioner in a Marion County clinic. Lori also teaches nursing students at the University of Southern Mississippi. Lori is married to Dr. Bert Beisel and together they have two children, Carson and Sophie, and one dog, Kooper. They have lived, worked, and played in Columbia, MS since 2003. Lori and her family worship together at First United Methodist Church in Columbia. When she is not at work, Lori enjoys reading, traveling, and visiting with her family and friends. |
